Digos City celebrates World Teachers’ Day
All roads lead to Digos City Gymnasium as teachers in Digos City Division celebrate World Teachers’ Day, October 4, 2016.
“I am excited to participate in this celebration as I get see my friends from other schools. We will surely do some catching-up”, said Leizel M. King, a teacher of Badiang Elementary School.
Meanwhile, Aimee Amor C. Porto, Head Teacher of English Department of Digos City National High School said that this celebration is something every teacher looks forward to as a form of break after doing all the school-related tasks.
The celebration was highlighted by honoring those who have been in the department for twenty years and more, parlor games, dance presentations, and raffle draw which excites those who are present.
Teachers from private schools were also present during the celebration and they felt honored to be invited in the commemoration of one of the most important affairs in the lives of a teacher.
Celebrated in more than 100 countries world-wide, World Teachers’ Day was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1994 to recognize the role of teachers and say thanks for the significant contributions they make in the classrooms and the communities.
